Partner with us

Three ways into the same conversation.

Cumular builds with operators, buys from owners, and reports to investors. Each relationship starts differently, so each has its own front door.

For operators

We back proven sector entrepreneurs who want to build a platform, not run a single business.

An Operating Partner at Cumular is a principal, not an employee. You co-author the investment thesis for your space, you help choose and underwrite the initial companies, you co-invest, and you lead execution. We bring the capital, the structure and the institutional machinery around you.

What we look for

  • A proven entrepreneur who has built, operated or scaled a business
  • A sector insider with credibility among owners and customers
  • A commercial builder who grows revenue, not only acquires
  • An operating leader who can recruit, manage and retain a team
  • An aligned co-investor willing to commit capital alongside us

What Cumular brings

  • Platform architecture and investment discipline
  • Transaction structuring and capital formation
  • Governance, finance and institutional reporting
  • M&A sourcing, diligence, integration and strategic support
  • A partnership that has done buy-and-build before

How it works

01

Initial conversation

You tell us where the opportunity is in your sector, and why you are the person to build it.

02

Joint thesis development

We co-author the investment thesis, test it against our five selection criteria, and size the space.

03

Target identification and underwriting

We identify and underwrite the initial company or companies together, and agree the acquisition roadmap.

04

Platform launch

Capital is committed, the structure is built, and you take operating leadership of the platform.

Start an operator conversation

We read every submission. If there is a fit, one of the partners replies personally — usually within two business days.

For business owners

If you have built a specialized industrial business, a platform can be an alternative to a straight sale.

Most owners in our verticals face the same two options: sell outright to a strategic buyer, or keep running the business alone. Joining a platform is a third path — the business gains the finance, systems and management depth it could never justify on its own, and you decide how involved you stay.

What changes

  • Professional finance arrives — reporting, controls, budgeting, KPIs
  • Governance and board oversight replace informal decision-making
  • Shared services take work off the business that never should have been on it
  • Growth stops competing with operations for the same cash

What does not

  • Local judgment stays local — we standardize process, not decisions
  • Customer relationships stay with the people who built them
  • Technical craft and reputation are the asset; we do not dilute them
  • The name over the door is a conversation, not a foregone conclusion

We look for businesses that are already working: profitable, independently viable, with a strong customer position and a capability worth building around.

Start an owner conversation

Every conversation is confidential. Nothing you send here is shared outside the partnership.

For investors

We work with institutional investors and family offices focused on U.S. industrial private markets.

We are happy to share our approach, our selection discipline and our current activity. Introductions are made in person rather than through a form, so the right place to start is a conversation.

What we will discuss

How we select spaces, how we choose and align Operating Partners, and how value is built at both the company and the platform level.

What we will not put on a website

Fund terms, portfolio economics, entry multiples or specific transactions. Those belong in a conversation and in definitive documents, not on a public page.

Who this is for

Investors with an existing allocation to industrial private markets, and family offices with operating-company experience who understand what a platform build actually requires.
